Visit the Museum of the Atlantic Allies in Argentia that was a major American naval base in World War II. The exhibition deals with the effect the U.S. presence had on the area. Placentia, the former French Capital of Newfoundland has many features of interest to tourists. It has the only lift bridge in Newfoundland.
