Depart your hotel in St. John’s in the morning and head south of St. John’s, via Route 10, where a world of new experiences awaits. Explore the region by car or on foot. The East Coast Trail that follows the Eastern Shore of the Avalon Peninsula brings walkers and hikers to cliff top perches for fantastic views of the coastline.
Take a boat tour from one of the operators in Bay Bulls to Witless Bay Ecological Reserve and view humpback whales and millions of birds – Atlantic Puffins, Black-Legged Kittiwakes and Common Murres, or 10,000-year-old icebergs that arrive in late spring or early summer. Or for the more adventurous, try sea kayaking at Cape Broyle or Bay Bulls and tour the coastline with one of our experienced operators.
Visit the Colony of Avalon archaeological site in Ferryland and find out where Lord Baltimore established one of the first English settlements in North America. This active archaeological dig features an interpretation centre and guided tours. In the evening take in the dinner theatre at the Majestic Theatre; available for private and group functions with full service catering. The dinner theatre troupe is a lively and talented group of vocalists and actors, who use beautiful harmonies and musical theatre to celebrate the dynamic culture of Newfoundland and Labrador.
